Erie BayHawks News Release
ERIE - The NBA Development League Erie BayHawks (11-8) utilized a balanced scoring attack and a smothering defense to knock off the Central Division leading Iowa Energy (10-4) with a 109 to 88 victory at the Tullio Arena.
Erik Daniels once again notched a double-double leading Erie with a game high 28 points and 10 rebounds. The BayHawks had seven scorers in double figures including; Jackie Manuel with 15, Maureece Rice and Cliff Clinkscales with 13, Ivan Harris and Mike Cook each adding 12 and Oliver Lafayette chipped in with 11.
Iowa struggled early and never got on track in the third quarter when they were outscored 30 to 18. The division leaders often showed frustration with the pace of Erie's half court game. Courtney Sims led the Energy with a double-double with 24 points and 10 rebounds.
The Bayhawks next home game is set for Wednesday, January 14 when the Anaheim Arsenal visit the Tullio Arena for a 7 pm tip off.
