
BayBears take series finale from Lookouts

Mobile, Ala. â The Mobile BayBears scored three runs in the first two innings and they held up as they won their series finale over Chattanooga, 3-2. BayBears' starter Chris Oxspring had his second solid outing in his second start of the season. Oxspring (1-2) threw five shutout innings, allowing four hits while striking out four for his first win of the season. Rusty Tucker allowed one run in the ninth but picked up his 14th save of the year.
Humberto Quintero put the BayBears on the board in the first. With the bases loaded, Quintero bounced a two-run, two-out single up the middle driving in Todd Donovan and Rico Washington. Mobile added their final run in the bottom of the second as Jake Gautreau drove in Vince Faison with another two-out single.
Oxspring has not allowed a run since moving into the starting rotation. In his two starts he has worked nine innings, giving up eight hits and has struck out 10 hitters.
The Lookouts scored single runs in he eighth and ninth, but came up short. The BayBears and Lookouts split their four game series. However, the BayBears ended their homestand 4-3, after taking two of three from the Birmingham Barons.
The BayBears now head to Huntsville to take on the Stars. Duncan McAdoo (1-2) will get the start on the mound Saturday night in the series opener.
