Bay Sox to the All-Star Game

The Bay Sox are pleased to announce that they will be sending four representatives to this year's NECBL All-Star Game in Laconia New Hampshire on July 21st.

The Bay Sox will send Chris Shaw (Boston College), Chris Travers (Roger Williams University), Johnny Lieske (Heartland Community College), and Carl Anderson (Bryant).

Shaw will be participating in the Home Run Derby and is currently tied for the league lead with 4 home runs. He is currently second on the team with a .306 average and leads the team with 19 RBIs.

Travers is leading the Bay Sox with a .309 batting average. He is currently second in the NECBL with a .453 on base percentage.

Anderson is second on the Bay Sox with 17 runs scored. Anderson has played a solid outfield for the Bay Sox this year and is leading the team with 8 steals.

Lieske is leading the team with a 2.79 ERA in 5 starts. He has been the most consistent starter for New Bedford despite not registering a win. In 29 innings pitched, Lieske has recorded a complete game, has struck out 27, and has allowed 15 hits.

The festivities start at 12:30 PM at Robbie Mills Field and include the 60-yard dash race at 1:25 PM, the homerun derby at 2:00 PM and the game at 6:00 PM. You won't want to miss this fun-filled day!
