The Moncton Wildcats will battle against two New Brunswick teams this week. They will visit the Acadie Bathurst Titan on Friday at the K.C. Irving Centre and comeback home to face the Saint John Sea Dogs. The Cats are 2-3 against the Titan this season and 0-2 against the Sea Dogs. Matt Marquardt, Matt Eagles and Phil Mangan lead the Wildcats in scoring with 31 points each so far this year. Sunday's game will be televised on Rogers Television channel 10.

Wildcats hit the ice with their fans

The Moncton Wildcats are pleased to announce their annual Skate with the Cats will be held Sunday December 16 following the game against the Saint John Sea Dogs. Moncton Wildcats Season Ticket holders and Kiddy Cats Club members are invited to attend.

The players, mascots and a special guest will be on hand to meet the fans, take pictures, sign autographs and enjoy some holiday cheer. Hot chocolate will be provided by Tim Hortons.

For admittance, season ticket holders must show their ticket and Kiddy Cats Club members should have their I.D.

The Kiddy Cats Club members are also invited for a pre-game pizza party, from 2pm to 3pm, in the Season Ticket Holders Lounge at the Coliseum.

LAST WEEK

Tuesday December 4th vs PEI Charlottetown Civic Centre 7:00PM GAME NOTES:

The Moncton Wildcats lost to the PEI Rocket 3-1 Wednesday night at the Charlottetown Civic Centre.

The first goal of the game came from the PEI Rocket in the 2nd period when Brett Morrison scored at 1:04 on the power play assisted by Chris Doyle and Pierre-Luc Lessard.

The Wildcats tied the game early in the third period when Pierre-Marc Lessard beat rookie goaltender Marc-Antoine Gélinas at 3:24. Matt Marquardt and Randy Cameron got the assists on that goal. PEI came back with a goal from Jan Kana at 16:54 and an empty net goal from Brett Morrison at 19:36 to win the battle of the bridge.

The Rocket outshot the Cats 40-31. Goaltender Nicola Riopel earned the 3rd star of the game stopping 37 out of 39 shots he faced.

Friday December 7th vs Rimouski Colisée de Rimouski 7:30PM GAME NOTES:

The Moncton Wildcats showed a lot of character Friday night by coming back from a 3-0 deficit in the first period but still lost to the Rimouski Océanic 5-4 in a shootout.

Michael Frolik and Olivier Fortier (2) scored the first three Rimouski goals, two of them on the power play. The Wildcats answered back with two goals before the end of the period, Mark Barberio at 16:57 and Matt Marquardt 18:08.

Randy Cameron tied the game at 2:35 of the second period but Philippe Cornet scored at 16:29 to give the Océanic a 4-3 lead after two.

Jesse Biduke registered his 4th of the season for the Wildcats at 15:07 of the third period to bring the game to overtime. Both teams took 4 shots on goal in the overtime period but weren't able to score.

Michael Frolik and David Skokan gave Rimouski the extra point in the shootout. Only Phil Mangan was able to beat Michael Dupont.

Sunday December 9th vs Acadie Bathurst Moncton Coliseum 4:00PM GAME NOTES:

In a see-saw Battle of New Brunswick, the Moncton Wildcats came out on the right side of a 3-2 score with the Acadie-Bathurst Titan on Sunday afternoon.

The Titan scored early in the first period when Brad Tesink got his first of the season from Tomas Svoboda at 3:16.

A pair of power-play goals by Matt Eagles gave the Cats a one goal margin before the midway mark of the middle frame. Eagles notched his 12th of the year at 2:45, Mark Barberio and Matt Marquardt assisted, then just over six minutes later, Eagles scored again at 8:46 with Barberio and Phil Mangan setting up the play. The Titan got a power-play goal of their own at 12:41 to make it 2-2 with Dany Masse's 12th, Mathieu Perreault and Remi Blanchard set up the goal.

The Wildcats checking line lead by Chris Morehouse with his 7th of the season got the game winning goal at 15:17 of the final period, Scott Brannon drew the assist. Nicola Riopel made key saves in the game's final minutes to preserve the Wildcats win.

The Titan outshot the Wildcats 36-26. Riopel got the nod as the game's first star, Eagles was named star number two and Dany Masse of the Titan, was the third star.

Friday December 14th vs Acadie Bathurst KC Irving Centre 7:00PM GAME NOTES:

The Moncton Wildcats will face the Acadie Bathurst Titan Friday at the KC Irving Centre. The Titan is currently 5th in the Eastern division with a record of 17-12-1-1. The Wildcats will try to improve their road record of 4-11-1-1 while Acadie Bathurst will look add another win to their 12-6-1-0 home record. Mathieu Perreault still leads the Titan with 21 goals, 28 assists and 49 points in 29 games so far this season.

Sunday December 16th vs Saint John Moncton Coliseum 4:00PM GAME NOTES:

The Moncton Wildcats will battle against another New Brunswick team, the Saint John Sea Dogs. The Sea Dogs are 3rd in the Eastern division with a record of 21-9-1-2 and are only one point back of the Halifax Mooseheads for first place. Christopher DiDomenico leads the Sea Dogs with 26 goals, 26 assists and 52 points in 33 games so far this season, including 12 power play goals.

Wildcats Announce Special Holiday Ticket Packages

The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League Moncton Wildcats have introduced a new "Holiday 6-PACK" and a 12-Ticket Flex PACK, both of which will be available for fans during this holiday season.

For only $87 (Adult), $75 (Senior), $66 (Student) and $60 (Child), Wildcats fans will receive six tickets for pre-selected games in December, January, February and March. By purchasing this Holiday 6-PACK, you will have the opportunity to upgrade to a full season ticket holder.

The Cats Flex ticket plan has been modified to create continued convenience and affordability for the remainder of the season. The all-new 12-ticket flex plan has been designed for those hockey fans with limited time schedules or budgets. Each flex pass is exchangeable at any time for an actual ticket to a 2007-2008 regular season home game.
