Bloomington Extreme News Release

BLOOMINGTON (Ill.) - With a vast array of skill on the roster, the Bloomington Extreme will have a tough time naming starters this season. Every player has tremendous talent and there will be some hard decisions to make, says Extreme head coach Kenton Carr.

Quarterback Eric McCollum has been a big surprise for the Extreme by displaying talents with both throwing and running the ball. However Luke Drone and Will Ducey are still viable options for Quarterback, as all three possess the ability to start on offense.

Nine Wide Receivers are on the Extreme roster this year, and any one of them could nab the starting role. "All nine are good enough to play in the (Indoor Football) League," says Carr.

Running Backs Derrick Brown and Bernard Payton have been stepping up their performance during training camp. Both demonstrate tremendous talent, and the quickness of Payton has been noticed by the coaching staff.

"Camp has been fun so far," says Carr, "With these new guys coming in, the veterans from last year have really stepped up their game."

On the defensive side, the Defensive Linemen, Defensive Backs, and Linebackers have been putting forth fantastic efforts, battling for the starting positions. Linebacker and former IFL Defensive Player of the Year, Joe Bevis, had a strong exhibition during camp and appears will be leading the defense this season. Linebacker James Cloud also looks to become an impact player for the Extreme.

This season is building up to be an exciting display of football talent. The Bloomington Extreme will play seven home games at the U.S. Cellular Coliseum in 2010. The regular season kicks off March 6 at the U.S. Cellular Coliseum as the Extreme will host the expansion Richmond (VA.) Revolution. The 2010 Extreme finished with a 10-5 record, making their third straight playoff appearance in the franchises four year history. Season Tickets are on sale now, call 309.434.2658.
