Chicago Slaughter News Release
CHICAGO - The Chicago Slaughter, the premier indoor football team in the Chicagoland area, will kick off their 2010 season in the Indoor Football League (IFL) at home against the Rochester Raiders (NY) this Saturday, February 27th at the Sears Centre Arena.
In 2009, the Slaughter, led by head coach and 1985 Super Bowl Chicago Bears star, Steve "Mongo" McMichael, went undefeated capturing the Continental Indoor Football League (CIFL) Championship. The recent addition of fellow 1985 Bears Super Bowl Champion Jim McMahon as a new team owner, signing of running back Jarrett Payton, son of legendary football great Walter Payton and a commitment by Steve McMichael to bring another football championship to Chicago, promises to lend itself to an exciting season for Chicago football fans.
The team will unveil their 2009 Championship banner prior to the game's 7:05 p.m. kickoff. The first 3,000 fans to enter the stadium will receive a commerative Jim McMahon headband in honor of his new ownership role with the team.
