
Barre Named Arena Football League Ironman Of The Week

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Columbus Destroyers wide receiver/defensive back B.J. Barre has been named the AFL's Ironman of the Week for Week 11, the Arena Football League and the Destroyers announced today.
Barre (6-2, 210, Ohio State) had a 2-yard rushing touchdown and 9-yard touchdown reception on offense, while adding eight tackles (7UT-2AT) and one pass breakup on defense, in the Destroyers 59-56 victory over the Grand Rapids Rampage this past Friday night. It is the second time in his two-year AFL career that Barre has won a league award. Last season he was named the Defensive Player of the Week in Week 14.
On the season, Barre has caught nine passes for 132 yards and four touchdowns and one rushing touchdown. Defensively, he has recorded 24 tackles (21UT-6AT), one tackle for a loss and one pass breakup in nine games.
The Destroyers return to action on Friday, May 18, when they visit the Colorado Crush. Kickoff on Frontier Field at Pepsi Center is set for 9 p.m. ET. The game will broadcast on the Destroyers Radio Network and flagship station WINK 107.1 FM with the pre-game show beginning at 8:30 p.m. ET. FSN Ohio will broadcast the game tape-delayed on Saturday, May 19 at 12 p.m. ET.
The Huntington $10 Ticket Blitz continues for every home game during the 2007 Destroyers season. A minimum of 225 lower bowl seats will be available for $10 at the Nationwide Arena Box Office two hours prior to every home game. The regular price on lower bowl seats is $26.
The Destroyers and Giant Eagle are teaming up with the Mid-Ohio FoodBank to TACKLE HUNGER in Central Ohio. Last year, with the help fans, the Destroyers raised enough resources to provide over 27,000 meals to those in need. Fans are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to all Destroyers home games to receive a raffle ticket. In addition to the food drive, if fans bring a non-perishable Giant Eagle branded food item they will receive a voucher for $3 off a regularly priced ticket.
