HIDALGO, Texas - The Rio Grande Valley Barracudas announced today the addition of goalkeeper Alexis Apodaca to the active roster ahead of their game this Wednesday night on the road versus the Soles de Sonora. Per team and league policies, details of the agreement were not disclosed.
Apodaca, a native of Mexico City, began his playing career in Mexico joining Club America early in his career where he participated in various tournaments. Then he joined Club Nexaca in their U-20 team he played in different international tournaments throughout Europe. He also represented Mexico at the beach soccer level where participated in the pre-World Cup Beach Soccer qualifier in Guatemala. Alexis then transitioned into the arena game where he was a member of Hidalgo La Fiera, Ontario Fury, and most recently Cedar Rapids Rampage.
Apodaca holds a career record of 9-6 with 7.08 Goals against Average and a 67.2% save percentage.
The Barracudas will hit the road for a Wednesday night road game against Sonora Soles on January 17th with the kickoff set for 9:35 PM CST. The next Barracudas home game is on Saturday; January 20th when they host the Pacific division foe Tacoma Stars with the kickoff set for 7:05 PM CST.
