Barons Release Schedule with Game Times

HOOVER, AL - The Birmingham Barons released the times for their 2009 schedule Monday. As in years past, most game times will be at 7:05 pm. The 14th Annual Rickwood Classic Presented by State Farm Insurance, to be held on Wednesday, May 27, will have a 12:35 pm start time.

In addition to the Rickwood Classic, three other Wednesdays will feature midday start times. April 22, May 13 and June 17 are all scheduled for 11:05 am start times.

The first and final Sunday home game during the first half (April-June) will begin at 5:05 PM with two Sunday home games commencing at 2:05 pm sandwiched between them. The three Sunday home games in August will each have a 5:05 pm first pitch.

The main start time for games will again be 7:05 pm. This includes the season opener and all games on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

A full promotional calendar with featured giveaways and entertainers will be released in mid-March. Individual game tickets will go on sale in mid-March as well. Season tickets and mini-plans are currently being sold.

The Barons will host the 2009 Southern League All-Star Game Presented by State Farm on Monday, July 13. The game will be played at Regions Park with a 7:05 pm first pitch. The 2009 Southern League Home Run Derby and Celebrity Softball Game Presented by Virginia College will take place on Monday, July 12 at Rickwood Field. The Celebrity Softball Game will begin at 3 pm with the Home Run Derby to follow at 4:45 pm.

Birmingham will welcome the Chattanooga Lookouts, Class AA affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers, to Regions Park for its season opener on April 9, 2009. First pitch is set for 7:05 pm.
