
Barons Release Kane Lafranchise from PTO

Oklahoma City - The Oklahoma City Barons released defenseman Kane Lafranchise from his PTO, General Manager Bill Scott announced today.
Lafranchise, a 6-1, 195-pounder from Edmonton, Alberta has played each of the last three seasons with the Alaska Aces of the ECHL. In 121 games with the Aces, Lafranchise has scored 60 points (7-53-60) while serving 40 penalty minutes. He skated in nine games with the Barons.
Prior to turning pro, Lafranchise played three seasons with the University of Alaska-Anchorage. Over those three seasons, he played in 97 games, scoring 33 points (9-24-33). He played two-plus seasons with the Spruce Grove Saints of the Alberta Junior Hockey League. In 119 games, he scored 55 points (19-36-55).
The Barons return to action this weekend with two home games against the Charlotte Checkers. Thursday is a Winning Weekday. Should the Barons win, all fans earn a ticket for the Barons next weekday game. Friday is Concession Specials night with $1 hot dogs and $2 draft beers. Faceoff for both games is 7 p.m. at the Cox Convention Center. Both games can be heard on the Barons flagship station, 96.1 KXY.
Friday night is Special Olympics Night with the Barons. Oklahoma City players are wearing one-of-a-kind jerseys that are available for bids in a live auction following the game. All proceeds from the jersey auction benefit the Barons Buddies program with Special Olympics.
