
Barons Kick-Off 2014 Season with Promotion Packed-Homestand

Birmingham, AL - The Barons will begin their 2014 home schedule on Wednesday, April 9th with a five-game homestand against the Jacksonville Suns, Double-A Affiliate of the Miami Marlins. The series begins with a special pre-game ceremony celebrating the team's 2013 Southern League Championship. The ceremony will conclude with the unveiling of the 2013 championship pennant. Opening night will also feature an appearance by "ËRally' courtesy of Alabama Media Group and a 2014 magnet schedule giveaway presented by Edwards Chevrolet. The magnet schedules will be available for each of the first three games of the homestand. Wednesday's throughout the season will be "ËAAA Wednesday's' at Regions Field where fans can get $2 off admission by showing their AAA card.
Game two marks the return of Thirsty Thursday's to Regions Field presented by Miller Lite, Woodbridge & Buffalo Wild Wings. Fans can enjoy 16 oz. beverages for just $2 and will have the chance to catch a pre-game concert courtesy of Birmingham Mountain Radio and Tin Roof. The concert, featuring "ËLatin for Latin', will take place in the Glowble Lighting Courtyard and begins at 6:00pm.
The fun continues on Friday with Friday Night Fireworks presented by Coca-Cola, Alabama Power and Glowble Lighting. It will also be Tornado Helmet Awareness night at Regions Field featuring 200 weather radio giveaways during the game courtesy of Midland Radio and batteries provided by Academy Sports and Outdoors.
On Saturday, the first 1,000 fans at the ballpark will receive a commemorative Championship Ring Trophy courtesy of Serra Honda. Saturday will also feature local artist "ËJD and the Man' in the first installment of the Saturday Concert Series presented by Good People Brewery. The pre-game concert will take place in the Glowble Lighting Courtyard from 5:00pm-6:20pm. EverySaturday throughout the season, the Barons will also give away a free grillfrom All-South Appliance.
The homestand concludes with Salute to Armed Forces Sunday presented by DRASH and NAPA. All season long, the Barons will pay tribute to America's service men and women by wearing special camouflage uniforms. A pre-game Youth Clinic will take place prior to Sunday's game beginning at 1:00pm and will feature players and coaches instructing participants on the fundamentals of baseball. Sunday will also be MLB.com Digital Academy Night.
