Barons' Auction To Benefit Tornado Victims

BIRMINGHAM, AL -The Birmingham Barons will hold a charity auction on Thursday, March 29, 2007 when they open newly renovated Regions Park with an exhibition game against the Chicago White Sox. The proceeds of the auction, involving memorabilia from both the Barons and White Sox, will benefit the tornado victims of Enterprise, AL.

All proceeds generated by the auction will be donated to the Enterprise Disaster Relief Fund through an account set up with Regions Bank. The Enterprise Disaster Relief Fund will benefit the individuals affected by the tragic March 1, 2007 tornadoes that devastated Enterprise, AL and destroyed Enterprise High School.

Some of the items available at auction, thanks to the generosity of both the Birmingham Barons and the Chicago White Sox, include:

- Scott Podsednik autographed White Sox jersey

- Jerry Owens autographed game-used Barons jersey

- World Series MVP Jermaine Dye autographed bat

- Mike Morse autographed bat

- Joe Crede autographed White Sox cap and baseball

- Mark Buerhle autographed White Sox cap

- Jim Thome autographed photograph and baseball

- Bobby Jenks autographed photograph and baseball

- Michael Jordan framed memorabilia plaque

- Original box seats from Regions Park, celebrating its 20th Anniversary in 2007
