
Barons and White Sox Make Moves

Birmingham Barons News Release
The Chicago White Sox and Birmingham Barons have announced a series of roster moves effective immediately on Thursday.
-- OF David Cook, who had been among SL leaders in batting average, home runs, on-base percentage, slugging percentage, extra-base hits, and walks, has been promoted to AAA Charlotte. -- OF Javier Colina has been received from A-Advanced Winston-Salem to take Cook's place on the roster. -- RHP Dewon Day, who last season became the 39th Barons player since 1986 to make the jump straight from Birmingham to the White Sox, has been received from Charlotte. -- LHP Ryan O'Malley, signed by the organization as a free agent in May and assigned to Birmingham, has been given his release. -- C Cole Armstrong has been placed on the Disabled List after being involved in a home-plate collision in the Barons' win Wednesday night at Carolina. -- C Eric Hollis, who had been on the Disabled List since May 29 with a leg injury, has been activated.
