Bandits Sweep Mysticks

The Jackson Bandits swept the season series against the Mysticks with a 4-3 overtime win in Jackson Mississippi.

Bogdan Rudenko gave Jackson a 1-0 lead at the 9:38 mark of the first period as he fired a centering pass back in behind Greg Hewitt. Chris Bogas and Chris Longo added the helpers on the power play goal.

Ryan Knox tied the game with a laser from the left point as the beat Mike Tamburro at the 10:56 mark of the period. J.P. O'Connor and John Sadowski added the assists on the goal.

A quick shot off the left face off circle from Longo gave the Bandits a 2-1 lead with 4:23 left in the opening stanza. Kory Karlander added an assist on the go ahead goal. Brett Mills tied the contest at the 6:17 mark of the second period off a nice feed from John Sadowski. Mills gathered in the nice pass from Sadowski at the bottom of the right face-off circle and fired the puck past Tamburro. Jason Elders corralled his own rebound on the right circle and fired the puck past Tamburro to give the Mysticks a 3-2 lead. Tyler Deis and Josh Harrold added the assists on Elders' power play goal at the 11:16 mark of the second period.

Ryan Mougenel tied the game up at three late in the third as he picked up a loose puck in neutral ice and slipped it behind Hewitt at the 18:41 mark of the thrid. Doug Schueller and Kory Karlander added the assists on the game tying goal.

Rudenko's second goal of the game at the 3:02 mark of overtime was the difference as he pushed a rebound over an outstretched Hewitt. Karlander and Tim Green picked up the helpers on the goal.

The Mysticks have four games left this season as they are at New Orleans (3/27), at Arkansas (3/29), host Pensacola (3/30) and Arkansas to close out the season (3/31).
