Bandits Sign Small, Weiss

BUFFALO, N.Y. - The Buffalo Bandits today announced the team has signed forward Corey Small to a two-year deal and transition player Nick Weiss to a one-year deal.

Small (5'10', 205 lbs., 3/23/1987) signs with the Bandits after being acquired via a trade with the Vancouver Stealth on Wednesday. A nine-year NLL veteran, Small has totaled 560 points (230+330) in 133 career games with Vancouver and the Edmonton Rush, earning All-Pro First Team honors in 2017. The St. Catharines, Ontario, native was selected by Edmonton in the first round (9th overall) in the 2009 NLL Entry Draft after playing collegiately for the Albany Great Danes from 2006 to 2009.

Weiss (6'2", 207 lbs., 8/16/1992) returns for his fifth season with the Bandits. In 54 games with the team, Weiss has recorded 53 points (25+28) and collected 325 loose balls. He played in all 18 games in 2017-18 and set career highs in goals (9), assists (13), points (22) and loose balls (114). Prior to joining the Bandits, the Port Hope, Ontario, Native spent one season with Vancouver, tallying 13 points (7+6) and recovering 86 loose balls in 15 games.
