
Bandits Sign Josh Byrne to One-Year Deal

BUFFALO, N.Y. - The Buffalo Bandits today announced the team has signed forward Josh Byrne to a one-year contract, pending league approval.
Byrne (6'3", 200 lbs., 4/15/1994) returns for his second season with the Bandits after a record-setting rookie campaign in which he scored 63 points (26+37) in 18 games and earned NLL All-Rookie honors. His 37 assists and 63 points set a new rookie franchise record and led all NLL rookies.
Before joining the Bandits, the New Westminster, British Columbia, native earned 2017 MLL Rookie of the Year Honors after recording 46 points (39+7) in nine games with the Chesapeake Bayhawks. His 39 goals during a nine-game stretch set a new MLL rookie record. Prior to turning pro, Byrne played two seasons of collegiate lacrosse at Hofstra University where he recorded 111 points (71+40) in 41 games with the Pride. Byrne was named the 2017 Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Player of the Year and earned All-CAA First Team honors in both 2016 and 2017.
