ROSEMONT, Ill. - The Chicago Bandits have agreed to terms on one-year contracts with pitchers Sara Moulton and Lacey Waldrop for the 2016 season per team GM Aaron M. Moore.

"Our organization is very excited about the return of Sara and Lacey for the 2016 season," said Moore. "Both players were first round picks of the Bandits and they are very important pieces to our future success.

Both pitchers are tremendous ambassadors for the game of softball and the Bandits off the field as well."

Returning for her third season with the team, Moulton posted a record of 3-2 during her sophomore year in the pros with an ERA of 4.86 including 22 strikeouts. As a rookie she started the season with a record of 6-0, eventually finishing 7-1, good for second overall on the team in wins while leading the club with 18 total appearances.

"Sara has been a reliable pitcher for us in her first two professional seasons," Moore added. "She's 10-3 in the circle for us and we're looking for her to step in to an important role on our staff next season. Moult is one of the best in the NPF at getting ground balls and with our infield defense being a strength, the pairing works well together."

Drafted by the Bandits as the fifth overall selection in the 2014 NPF Draft out of the University of Minnesota, the four-time All-Big Ten Honoree is looking forward to spending another summer in Chicago.

"I couldn't be more excited to sign on for a third season," said Moulton. "There's no other place I would want to spend my summer. We have the best teammates, coaches, staff and fans which made this decision an easy one."

In addition to pitching for the Bandits, Moulton serves as the co-owner of Strike Zone Sports in Eagan, Minn., where she is also a pitching instructor.

"The future of the NPF is bright," continued Moulton. "It's truly a privilege to be a part of this league as well as being an active role model for our sport on and off the field. I'm anxious and excited to return to Bandit Nation and contribute to another Championship season."

Waldrop, who was named the 2014 USA Softball National Collegiate Player of the Year, posted a record of 3-5 in her first professional season with an ERA of 3.42 including 38 strikeouts in 55.1 innings pitched.

"Lacey came to the Bandits out of Florida State and was everything as advertised, both on and off the field," stated Moore. "She had a few bumps along the way in her first season, but seemed to settle in and find her groove as the summer progressed. Lacey has incredible movement on her pitches and will only continue to improve with more knowledge of the hitters in the league."

Drafted third overall by the Bandits in the 2015 NPF Draft, Waldrop finished her career at Florida State with a record of 109-29 including back-to-back ACC Pitcher of the Year honors.

"I couldn't be more excited to re-sign with the Bandits," said Waldrop. "Last summer was one of the best of my life and I attribute that to the relationships and memories I was able to make with my teammates.

The Bandits have given me the opportunity to continue playing the game that I love. I can't wait to play in front of the best fans in the NPF for a second season and bring them back another Cowles Cup."

This off-season Waldrop is serving as an intern with Fox Sports in Atlanta, Ga.
