Buffalo Bandits News Release
Buffalo, N.Y. (Sept. 5, 2003) -- Buffalo Bandits General Manager Kurt Silcott announced today the team has hired Brian Wheeler as Public Relations Director. Wheeler comes to the Bandits after spending two years with the Buffalo Bills of the National Football League.
Wheeler, who has experience on both the professional and minor league levels, began his career in 2000 working as a gameday intern for the Rochester Knighthawks and the Rochester Americans (AHL). He has spent the last two years working for the Bills' media relations and website operations departments.
"We are very pleased to announce Brian as our new Director of Public Relations for the Buffalo Bandits," said Silcott. "Brian brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Bandits organization. His experience in football, hockey and lacrosse will give him and us a broad perspective on the various public relations aspects for our team. We look forward to an increased public presence for the Bandits with Brian at the focal point of that drive. His addition further shows the Sabres' commitment to the success and the future of the Buffalo Bandits."
Hailing from the rural community of Clymer, N.Y., Wheeler also works for the Buffalo Sabres, monitoring their website, www.sabres.com and charitable donations. He has implemented many changes on the website and is in the process of molding the Sabres' online presence.
Brian can be reached via email at brian.wheeler@sabres.com or by calling (716) 855-4283.
