Buffalo, NY - Dhane Smith scored his second goal of the night with 70 seconds remaining, breaking a 9-9 fourth quarter tie to lift the Buffalo Bandits to a 10-9 win over the Calgary Roughnecks on Saturday evening at First Niagara Center.

A back and forth first half saw both clubs each score five goals including a pair of markers from Roughnecks forward Dane Dobbie. With his second goal of the night, Dobbie recorded his 275th career NLL goal to become the franchise's all-time leader, a mark previously held by Kaleb Toth. Dobbie added five assists to finish the night with a game-leading seven points.

Tyler Digby (3), Curtis Dickson (2), rookie Wesley Berg and Jeff Shattler, who hit 150 career NLL games played, also contributed with goals in the road setback.

Anthony Cosmo made 41 saves to record the win in Buffalo's 25th anniversary season home opener while Frankie Scigliano had 33 stops for Calgary who drops to 0-2 on the young NLL season.

The Roughnecks will now visit the New England Black Wolves on Friday, Jan. 15, before returning home to host the Vancouver Stealth on Saturday, Jan. 30, for Stampeders Night presented by TELUS. Fans are encouraged to join the pre-game party in Dutton's Lounge and the Chrysler Club, open to all ages at 5:00 p.m., with faceoff at 7:00 p.m.
