Bandits Announce Open Tryout

San Angelo Bandits News Release


San Angelo - With the San Angelo Bandits professional indoor football team set to commence CIF league play February 27, 2016 against the Dodge City Law. The San Angelo Bandits are pleased to announce they will be conducting an open tryout at the San Angelo Stadium 1919 Knickerbocker San Angelo, Texas 76904 Saturday December 19, 2015.

The one day tryout is open to participants over the age of 18; only those who no longer have any NCAA or NAIA eligibility, and are not under contract with any other professional football team may participate. Kickers will be evaluated (weather permitting) at this event.

"This is an event I look forward to each year; there is always that diamond in the rough out there that just needs an opportunity. Last year we signed wide receiver / defensive back Christian Torres and former ASU standout Linebacker Austin Benson to our team, I know right here in the state of Texas we have an abundance of talent and we want to provide an opportunity for them to showcase their skills" said Bandits team owner Randy Sanders.

Several of the re-signed players are expected to be on hand, including WR Desmond Marrs, and fan favorite CB Darrell Raven -Charlo along with Head Coach/ General Manager Meadow Lemon.

Registration will begin at 9:00AM, with testing and drills beginning at 10AM.

Participants will be tested in the 40 yard dash, (linemen 20 yards) 20 yard shuttle, L-Drill, bench press (hard surface) and position specific and one on one drills will be held on the field turf.

Participants must bring their own shoes (sneakers for hard surface) molded cleats for position specific drills. Metal cleats are not permitted. This is a non-contact tryout.
