Bandits Announce 2005 Team Awards and 2006 Contract Extension for Jose Jefferson

The Sioux City Bandits of the United Indoor Football Association are pleased to announce their 2005 Team Awards at their annual Post Season Party Tuesday, August 2, at Tailgators Sports Bar and Grill. These awards were picked and awarded by the Bandits Coaching Staff.

Defensive Practice Player of the Year - Keith Chapman

Offensive Practice Player of the Year - Tristan Johnson

Offensive Rookie of the Year - Ken Horton

Defensive Rookie of the Year - Jon Paulsen

Offensive Lineman of the Year - Erv Strohbeen

Co-Defensive Lineman of the Year - Jesse Wavrunek and Anthony Thomas

Special Teams Player of the Year - Patrick Jackson

Defensive Player of the Year - Adam Lloyd

Offensive Player of the Year - Jarrod DeGeorgia

Team Most Valuable Player - Fred Jackson

The UIF Post Season Awards will be announced later this week. They will be available on the UIF website at www.unitedindoorfootball.com.

The Bandits are also pleased to announce the signing of Head Coach Jose Jefferson for the 2006 season. Jefferson led the Bandits to a 13-2 regular season record, a number 2 seed in the UIF playoffs, the second highest scoring offense in the league and a UIF North Division Championship. Jefferson is also the Head Coach at Lincoln High School in Lincoln, NE.
