ROSEMONT, Ill. - The Chicago Bandits have agreed to terms on a one-year contract with outfielder, Brenna Moss and infielder, Megan Blank for the 2015 season per team GM, Aaron M. Moore.

Moss, who played collegiate softball at Fresno State University in Fresno, Calif., was the team's 13th overall selection in the 2015 NPF College Draft, presented by BowNet, while Blank was added to the roster as a free agent.

"Brenna is a player we have been interested in for several seasons," said Moore. "She is the type of player offensively that fits exactly what we were looking for and defensively she makes us very good and very fast in the outfield.

"We're excited to see what she'll be able to do at this level and think she will help push everyone even more. Brenna could help make the top of our lineup one of the quickest in Bandits history."

As a junior, Moss was named the 2014 Mountain West Defensive Player of the Year and was most recently named to the Mountain West All-Conference First Team. As a senior, she led the Mountain West Conference with a .439 batting average and 83 hits, while finishing second in runs scored with 59. In addition, Moss set a new Fresno State record in stolen bases after ending her Bulldog career with a total of 104 stolen bases. Her efforts this season also earned her the honors of Fresno State Female Bulldog of the Year.

"It is a huge privilege to be signing on with the Bandits and I couldn't be more grateful for the opportunity they have given me," stated Moss.

Moss continued, "Growing up, my parents always supported me and pushed me to be the best I could be and I am so thankful for that because that's exactly what I needed to make it to the professional level. There are so many people that have guided me along the way and have shaped me into the player I am today and I couldn't be more thankful for all of them because I definitely wouldn't be in this position today if it wasn't for them. I'm really excited for the season and ready to take on the best athletes in the nation!"

Blank, a native of Culver City, Calif., earned First Team All-Big Ten honors four consecutive years, making her just the second player in program history to do so. Starting all 210 games of her collegiate career at shortstop, she led the conference with 33 double plays in 2015 while leading the Hawkeyes in batting average (.435), slugging percentage (.733), on-base percentage (.511), hits (70), doubles (17), triples, (2) and home runs (9).

"Megan is a player that was on our draft list back in April and we are thankful the opportunity to add her was still there," said Moore. "We think she is going to be a key player to our success, not only in 2015, but hopefully for many more seasons down the road.

"She fits perfectly with our roster and is so versatile. We are looking forward to Megan in a Bandits uniform!"

She left her name in the Hawkeye record books as she broke or tied five school records during her final season in the program. She leaves Iowa with as the single-season record holder in batting average (.442) while finishing first all-time in doubles (63), second in RBIs (153), tied for second in triples (13), fourth in home runs (27), fifth in runs scored (130) and tied for fifth in hits (253).

"I'm really grateful for the opportunity to be able to continue my playing career with the Bandits," exclaimed Blank. "It's so surreal to be surrounded by and playing against the best of the best, and it's an honor to be part of such a great organization."

Tickets for all 2015 Bandits games, including the home opener on Thursday, June 4 against the Akron Racers, are on sale now. For more information about the Chicago Bandits, or to purchase tickets, visit www.chicagobandits.com.
