October 14, 2006 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Virginia Ballerz News Release
Richmond, VA. Ann Iverson, owner of the ABA Richmond Ballerz, recently spent a very busy weekend in Richmond celebrating her birthday and making media appearances. Ms. Iverson conducted a series of radio and television interviews and appeared at the Ultimate Fighting Championship at the Richmond Coliseum. She also had a huge birthday part at downtown Richmond's Club Manhattans.
Ms. Iverson interviewed on Radio One's WCDX/Power 92.1 with afternoon personality Ro Diggah and Clear Channel's WBTJ 106.5 The Beat with afternoon jock Mike Street to share the news about the Richmond Ballerz. When asked why she decided to start an ABA team, she said, "If I can do it for Allen, I can do it for other young men who want to become great basketball players." Allen Iverson of the Philadelphia 76ers is Ann Iverson's son.
Never one to shy away from a big audience, Ms. Iverson announced that Richmond would have a new ABA team in front of a crowd of 6000 people at the Ultimate Fighting Championships. She also was interviewed for Comcast Cable TV show, "Out of Bounds," which airs in 23 states and reaches 15 million households. Check local listing for the date and time the episode will air.
