Ballard Leads STORM to Win Number 18 in Montreal

(Summerside, PE) Antonio Ballard scored another double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds to help the Summerside STORM to the 18th win of the season with a 116-95 win over the Jazz in Montreal Friday night. Ballard had a terrific night shooting the basketball going 7 for 10 from the field including 2 for 3 from the 3 point line.

Brandon Robinson led the team in scoring with 21 points while Greg Plummer and Omari Johnson each chipped in with 16. Josiah Turner had another nice night dishing out the ball with 10 assists. For Montreal, Eric Frederick scored 34 points to lead all scorers in the game.

The win capped a good day for the team as earlier the NBL of Canada named STORM head coach Joe Salerno Coach of the Month for January.

The STORM play next at home on Thursday February 14th at 7 pm against the Moncton Miracles which is "Cure on the Court" night with funds being raised for Breast Cancer Research, an NBL of Canada initiative. The STORM then play on Monday February 18th, Islander Day, at 2 pm with the games theme surrounding family health and wellness.

The STORM has also announced that STORM playoff ticket packages will be released soon with more details coming within the next week.

STORM players will also be out in the community on Sunday when they visit the Knights of Columbus Foul Shooting Contest at Three Oaks Senior High School from 1 to 3 pm.
