BAKERSFIELD, September 10, 2015 - The Bakersfield Jam will tip off the 2015-16 season, and the team's 10th NBA D-League campaign, on Friday, November 13, facing their West Division rival Santa Cruz Warriors, on the road, at 7:00 p.m. (PDT). The team's home opener at the Dignity Health Event Center is set for Sunday, November 15 versus the Reno Bighorns at 5:00 p.m.
The Jam will play a 50-game schedule, 24 at home at Dignity Health Event Center, 24 on the road and two at the NBA D-League Showcase. For the second consecutive season, the NBA D-League Showcase will take place in Santa Cruz, CA. The 19-game Showcase will run over five days, from Jan. 6-10, 2016, and feature the league's 19 teams playing two regular-season games apiece. Last season, Bakersfield won the inaugural Showcase Cup. A complete Showcase game schedule will be announced at a later date.
The NBA D-League features two conferences, Eastern and Western, each broken into two divisions. The Eastern Conference will feature the Atlantic Division (Delaware 87ers, Erie Bayhawks, Maine Red Claws, Raptors 905, Westchester Knicks) and Central Division (Canton Charge, Fort Wayne Mad Ants, Grand Rapids Drive, Iowa Energy, Sioux Falls Skyforce). The Western Conference will be split between the Southwest Division (Austin Spurs, Oklahoma City Blue, Rio Grande Valley Vipers, Texas Legends) and West Division (Bakersfield Jam, Los Angeles D-Fenders, Idaho Stampede, Reno Bighorns, Santa Cruz Warriors). The new club, Raptors 905 (affiliate of the Toronto Raptors), will be the record 19th NBA D-League team.
