Bakersfield Blitz News Release
With the Stockton Arena filled with over 9,900 quiet Stockton fans, Blitz took care of business bringing home a 55-26 victory over Stockton. The Stockton Lightning came in the game 1-2, hoping to have a win at their first home opener.
Previously named af2's Ironman of the Week, offensive specialist Rennard Reynolds (6-2, 190) had a great game. Reynolds finished with 4 touchdowns in the first half, all touchdown passes from quarterback, Mike Wall.
Speaking of Mike Wall, he had a good clean game with a total of 6 touchdown passes and no interceptions.
New kicker, Rich Ehmke, also proved to be a good decision with 7 out of 8 field goals.
Ben McCombs, in for Onaindia who was out this game with a sprained ankle, also had a great game defensively, along with a touchdown in the fourth quarter.
Defensive Coordinator, Cedric Walker, did well with his boys also. Defensive specialist, Alex Wallace had 3 interceptions and defensive back, Joshua Robinson had 1, totaling 4 interceptions for the night.
The Blitz will be on the road again next week, Saturday, May 6, playing the Spokane Shock for the second time this season. Kick off is set for 7:00 p.m. Next home game will be the following week, Saturday, May 13, when the Blitz take on Rio Grande Valley.
