Penticton, BC - 2011 first-round pick Sven Baertschi scored twice, and Joni Ortio turned in his second straight solid start in the net, as the Calgary Flames Prospects closed out their Young Stars tournament schedule with a 4-3 win over the Edmonton Oilers.

There was already a buzz surrounding the Swiss born Baertschi in Penticton after two strong games that saw him contribute offensively, but Wednesday night saw a new level of play. The Portland Winterhawks product opened the scoring on the power play in the first period. Baertschi had a one-timer stopped, but followed the puck and buried his own rebound. In the third he tipped home a well-placed point shot from James Martin at the side of the Oiler net to make it 3-1.

Also contributing with goals were Dustin Sylvester - who zipped a shot high glove; and Lance Bouma - who finished a gorgeous drive to the net in traffic.

Joni Ortio made 20 saves on 23 shots faced including two particularly crucial saves in the dying moments of the one-goal game. Calgary Flames Goalie Coach Clint Malarchuk "Orti's a beauty, we've got a lot of confidence in him and we've got a good guy (Heat Goalie Coach Jordan Sigalet) in Abbotsford that'll continue to work with him in transition from the European game"

The Flames finish the tournament with one win, a loss and an overtime defeat. The Flames Prospects will board a flight to Calgary following the game and resume 2011-12 training camp. The Flames Prospects have an exhibition game with the University of Calgary Dinos on Friday evening.
