Alabama Steeldogs News Release
BIRMINGHAM, AL â The Birmingham Steeldogs have announced that they have been assigned former UAB quarterback Jeff Aaron and defensive specialist Eldrick Hill.
Aaron appeared in five games with the Steeldogs last season and completed 72 of 120 pass attempts for 854 yards with 20 touchdowns and just six interceptions. He was the league's leading passer after the first two weeks of the season. Aaron was named UAB's Most Valuable Player following the 2000 season and was named MVP of the 1996 6A State Championship game guiding Jeff Davis past Mountain Brook.
The Steeldogs have also reunited with defensive specialist Eldrick Hill. Hill has spent parts of the last three seasons in the league with the Steeldogs and Columbus Wardogs. In 23 career games, he has registered 74 tackles, 29 passes defended, and three interceptions.
"It is always nice to have a balance of veteran players and newcomers when heading into training camp," said Steeldogs Head Coach Bobby Humphrey. "We know Jeff can play the quarterback position but we are going to look at him in a few other positions and Hill is an individual that has the chance to come in and help shore up our secondary."
Season tickets to the Steeldogs 2004 season are currently available. Packages start at just $64. For more information, contact the Steeldogs Ticket Office at 205.458.8833.
