af2 Sets 2004 Division Alignment
January 13, 2004 - arenafootball2 (af2) News Release
CHICAGO - Alignment for the 2004 af2 season, which begins in late March, features a 26-team format consisting of two conferences divided into three divisions, the League office announced today.
The American and National Conferences each consist of 13 teams within three divisions. The Northeast, South and Mid-South divisions form the American Conference, while the Southwest, Midwest and West divisions complete the National Conference. Each division has four teams except the American Conference South and the National Conference Southwest divisions, which each have five teams. The complete alignment is charted below.
Each team plays every team in its division twice (home/away) with the exception of the Northeast, Southwest and West Divisions. Teams in Northeast and Southwest divisions play each other three times, while teams in the West Division play head-to-head four times apiece.
