Cedar Park, TX - The Texas Stars (10-6-0-0, 20 points) defeated the Milwaukee Admirals (9-4-3-3, 22 points) 2-0 in front of 5,716 fans on Saturday night at Cedar Park Center. Texas goalie Richard Bachman (5-2-0) stopped all 26 shots to secure his second shutout of the season and third in his AHL career. Stars forwards Greg Rallo and Raymond Sawada each scored in the team's fourth straight victory. The Stars snapped a Milwaukee seven-game unbeaten in regulation streak and improved to 6-4-0-0 at home. Milwaukee goalie Mark Dekanich (8-2-2) stopped 30 of 32 shots in the loss. The Stars will travel to Houston on Sunday to face the Aeros at 4:05 pm.
Texas tallied the lone goal of the first period with 34 seconds left in the period. Right wing Greg Rallo netted his fourth goal of the season for the 1-0 lead. Scott McCulloch and Travis Morin assisted on Rallo's fourth tally of the season to give the Stars a one-goal lead after 20 minutes of play.
Stars right wing Raymond Sawada notched an early goal at 3:45 of the second period. Sawada tallied his first goal of the season off a rebound in front of the net. Phillip Larsen and Mathieu Tousignant helped with assists for the 2-0 final.
Texas will play Houston on the road this Sunday at 4:05 pm. The Stars will host the Houston Aeros at 7:30 pm on Wednesday, November 24th. Texas will face Milwaukee again on Friday, November 26th at 7:30 pm at Cedar Park Center. The first 2,500 fans will receive Texas Stars ear buds courtesy of Best Buy. Also, fans may purchase $3 domestic drafts, $2 sodas and $1 hot dogs.
