The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins defeated the Binghamton Senators 1-0 in mid-week hockey action at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena last week. Matt Rust scored the game's only goal, unassisted off a face-off. The goal came just 4:51 into the first period of play and was enough to send the visiting Penguins home with the win. Scott Munroe turned aside all 25 Binghamton shots to earn his third shutout of the season, two of which have come against the B-Sens. Robin Lehner tended goal for Binghamton stopping 35 of 36 shots.
Friday, Dec 9: Norfolk 5, Binghamton 1
Shots: Norfolk 39, Binghamton 22
PP: Norfolk 2 for 3, Binghamton 0 for 3
The B-Sens fell to the Norfolk Admirals 5-1 on Friday night. Trevor Smith led the Admirals offense scoring a goal and adding a pair of assists in the game, while Cory Conacher had a two point night scoring a goal and drawing an assist. Matt Fornataro, Mike Kostka, and Michel Ouellet also scored for the visiting Admirals. Andre Petersson scored the lone Binghamton goal, assisted by Pat Cannone and Eric Gryba. Dustin Tokarski tended goal for Norfolk, stopping 21 of 22 shots. Robin Lehner made his third straight start for the B-Sens, turning aside 34 of 39 shots.
Saturday, Dec 10: Norfolk 5, Binghamton 2

PP: Norfolk 1 for 5, Binghamton 2 for 5
For the second straight night the Norfolk Admirals succeeded in putting up five goals against the home standing Binghamton Senators, taking the game by a score of 5-2. Trevor Smith scored a goal and a pair of assists for the second straight game, while Cory Conacher notched a pair of goals in the match. Tyler Johnson also scored for the Admirals and J.T. Wyman added an empty net tally in the final two minutes of regulation. Mike Hoffman and Rob Klinkhammer each scored goals for the B-Sens. Pat Cannone assisted on both Binghamton tallies. Jaroslav Janus tended goal for Norfolk, stopping 15 of 17 shots. Mike McKenna started in goal for Binghamton, stopping 37 of 41 shots.
Tuesday, Dec 13: Binghamton 2, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton 4

PP: Binghamton 2 for 6, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton 1 for 3
The Binghamton Senators dropped their fourth straight game, falling to the Penguins in Wilkes-Barre 4-2 on Tuesday night. Colin McDonald scored a pair of goals for the Penguins, including an empty netter with just 7.1 seconds remaining in regulation. Ben Street and Zach Sill also scored for Wilkes-Barre, while goaltender Brad Thiessen stopped 22 of 24 Binghamton shots. Stephane Da Costa and Mike Hoffman each scored goals for Binghamton. Da Costa and Hoffman ended the night with a pair of points after drawing assists on each other's goals. Robin Lehner tended goal for Binghamton, making 20 saves.
Record: 9-17-1-1
Standings: The B-Sens are in fifth place in the East Division (20 points).

Sunday, Dec. 18 @ Adirondack Phantoms
The Binghamton Senators will face the Northeast Division's Phantoms in a pair of games this weekend. The team's last met on Nov. 24 in Binghamton, a 5-2 victory for the Senators. Adirondack enters the week in second place in the Northeast Division with a record of 14-9-1-1 and 30 points.
Former Binghamton Senator Denis Hamel leads the Phantoms in scoring with 22 points (10 goals, 12 assists). Hamel ranks fourth overall in the American Hockey League in shots, having fired 95 pucks on net through 25 games played.
Saturday, Dec. 17 vs. Worcester Sharks (San Jose Sharks) - 7:05 p.m.
The Binghamton Senators welcome the Atlantic Division's Worcester Sharks to the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena this Saturday for their first and only regular season trip to Binghamton. Following a 2-1 victory in Springfield on Tuesday night, the Sharks hold a record of 11-6-3-3 and 28 points, good for third place overall in the Atlantic Division.
Ben Ferriero currently leads the Sharks in scoring with 18 points (nine goals, nine assists). Goaltender Tyson Sexsmith (6-5-3) has the league's third best goals-against average at a stingy 1.83.
SENS SNIPPETS...
With his assist on Stephane Da Costa's first period goal in Wilkes-Barre on Tuesday, forward Pat Cannone, stretched his point streak to three games, currently the longest active point streak of any B-Sens player. Cannone has recorded four assists in three straight games. He currently leads the team in points with 16 (six goals, 10 assists).
Stephane Da Costa scored his first American Hockey League goal in Tuesday's 4-2 loss to Wilkes-Barre. In seven games with the B-Sens, Da Costa has one goal and six assists for seven points. The forward has also skated in 22 games with Ottawa this season, scoring two goals and three assists for five points.
B-SENS BRINGING IT HOME TO THE COMMUNITY...
The Binghamton Senators will auction off a special set of game-worn jerseys to aid flood relief in the Southern Tier.
In September the Southern Tier region experienced historic flooding after heavy rain from the remnants of Hurricane Lee caused the Susquehanna River to rise to record levels.
The B-Sens will wear black jerseys featuring a special edition American Red Cross patch at their home games on Dec. 16 versus the Adirondack Phantoms and Dec. 17 versus the Worcester Sharks.
The jerseys will be auctioned off via eBay (http://stores.ebay.com/binghamtonsenatorsteamshop) beginning Monday, Dec. 19. All proceeds from the auction with go to the American Red Cross Southern Tier Chapter to assist with local flood relief efforts.
