B-Sens to face off against cancer for second straight year

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - The Binghamton Senators have once again teamed with the American Cancer Society for the second annual Face Off Against Cancer. The event was designed to raise funds and awareness about cancer, which will affect more than one million new people this year according to the American Cancer Society.
The Face Off Against Cancer will be held on Friday, Jan. 12 and Saturday Jan. 13 during the B-Sens games against Hershey and Providence, and will include a variety of fundraising activities. Team fundraising on the concourse level of the Arena will begin at 6:00 p.m. on both nights. There will be a survivor lap on the ice during the first intermission of Saturday night's game against Providence.
A Luminaria ceremony and an open skate will be held following the hockey game on Saturday night. The open skate will end at midnight. Fans must bring their own skates for the event.
A representative from the American Cancer Society will participate in a ceremonial puck drop before both games this weekend.
The American Cancer Society is the nationwide community-based voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives, and diminishing suffering from cancer, through research, education, advocacy, and service. Headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, the ACS has state divisions and more than 3,400 local offices.
The American Cancer Society still has ticket packages available for the Face Off Against Cancer. Prices range from $10.00 to $30.00, with the $30.00 package including tickets to both hockey games and a Face Off Against Cancer T-shirt.
