Binghamton Senators News Release

BINGHAMTON - The Binghamton Senators in conjunction with Mirella's Restaurant and 99.1 The Whale teamed up Tuesday night to raise over $400.00 in tips and nearly four barrels of toys to benefit local children during the holiday season.

Dinner was served to an overflow crowd by the Senators at Mirella's Restaurant, 585 Main Street – Johnson City, for a discounted price of only $4.99 plus a toy donation. All toys and tips collected were donated to the Broome County Toys for Tots for distribution over the next week.

The dinner was the third event to be held this season that involved Senator players lending their time to brighten the lives of area youths.

Earlier this season, the team participated for the second consecutive year in a plate painting project with The Clay Ground in Vestal. The seasonal and holiday themed plated were then auctioned off with proceeds of nearly $4,000.00 donated to the local Make-A-Wish Foundation.

This week, the Senators visited the Saratoga Heights Day Nursery in Binghamton with close to 100 presents in tow for 40 children and two families. The club also presented the Day Nursery with a cash donation towards supplies for the center. Presents were made possible through generous donations made by players plus a matching donation from Binghamton Senators majority owner Tim Smith.

The visit to the Day Nusery was the team's third in as many years in Binghamton.
