B-Sens sign goaltender David Leggio to ATO, release Joel Martin

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - The Binghamton Senators signed today goalie David Leggio to an amateur tryout contract (ATO). The 23-year-old netminder recently completed his collegiate career at Clarkson University (ECAC) where he registered a 22-12-4 record in his senior season, with a 2.20 goals-against-average and a 0.920 save percentage. He also collected five shutouts during his final amateur season.

Upon signing Leggio, the B-Sens released netminder Joel Martin from his professional tryout contract.

The 23-year-old netminder recently completed his collegiate career at Clarkson University (ECAC) where he registered a 22-12-4 record in his senior season, with a 2.20 goals-against-average and a 0.920 save percentage. He also collected five shutouts during his final amateur season.

In 103 career games with the Clarkson Golden Knights since 2004-05, Leggio has 59 wins, 29 losses, 12 defeats in overtime and shootouts. His career goals-against-average is 2.47, with a 0.918 save-percentage and eight shutouts.

Leggio, a native of Williamsville, N.Y., will serve as Jeff Glass' back-up when the B-Sens take the ice on Saturday night against the Springfield Falcons at 7:05 p.m.
