BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - The Binghamton Senators came away from tonight's home game against the Hershey Bears with their first loss of the season. Although shots favored Binghamton 44-21, the final score was tilted in favor of Hershey, 3-2.

In the second period, Garrett Stafford scored a power play goal at 4:07 to stretch the Bears' lead to two.
The Bears then jumped to a 3-0 lead at 5:03 in the third period off a goal by defenseman Cameron Schilling, assisted by former B-Sens forward Ryan Potulny.
The B-Sens fought back late in the third as captain Andre Benoit scored a power play goal, assisted by Mark Stone, at 9:02. Then with 4:52 to go, defenseman Tyler Eckford scored a shorthanded tally assisted by Mika Zibanejad to pull the B-Sens within one, but the clock ran out before the B-Sens could tie the score, sending Hershey home with the victory.
