POSTPONED: Thursday's game between the B-Mets and Thunder was postponed due to rain. The makeup date is TBD.
LAST GAME: The B-Mets took an early lead and never looked back as they defeated the Thunder, 6-1 in a wire-to-wire victory Wednesday night. In his first start with the B-Mets in 2013, Darin Gorski threw 4.0 innings and gave up one run and four hits in a no-decision. The bullpen combined for 5.0 scoreless innings of relief. Scott Atchison threw a perfect fifth inning to pick up the victory in a Major League rehab assignment, and both John Church and Adam Kolarek tossed two scoreless innings to finish the game. Offensively, the bottom three hitters in the lineup each had two hits. The B-Mets have now won three straight games over the Thunder in 2013.
BINGHAMTON STARTING PITCHER: RHP Cory Mazzoni makes his seventh start of the season for the B-Mets. He has received a no-decision in each of his last three starts, and went a season-high 6.2 innings on June 6 vs. Trenton. He surrendered three runs on five hits, but struck out a career-high 11 batters. In four starts at home in 2013, Mazzoni is 1-0 with a 3.86 ERA. In 2012, he lost his only start against Bowie. He allowed seven runs in six innings. In 2012, he went 5-5 with a 4.46 ERA in 14 starts with the B-Mets. Earlier this season, Cory missed 24 games on the disabled list with right elbow neuritis. Prior to the 2013 season, Mazzoni was named the #10 prospect in the Mets organization according to Baseball America.
BOWIE STARTING PITCHER: RHP Tyler Wilson makes his second start of the season for the Bay Sox. On June 8, he received a no-decision against New Britain. In the start he threw 5.0 innings and gave up two runs on three hits. He began the season with the Frederick Keys (High-A), and started 11 games. In those games, he went 1-1 with a 4.48 ERA. Wilson was selected by the Orioles in the 10th round of the 2011 draft out of the University of Virginia.
