LAST GAME: The B-Mets pounded out ten hits and Zack Wheeler allowed one unearned run over seven innings to defeat the Harrisburg Senators 4-1 last night at Metro Bank Park. Wheeler struck out seven and surrendered just two infield hits to collect his sixth win in as many starts. For the third straight night the B-Mets scored in the first inning, taking the early lead on Jefry Marte's RBI double. Binghamton added two runs against Danny Rosenbaum in the fourth on three hits. They plated their final run in the seventh on three hits and an error by left fielder Jesus Valdez. Wheeler walked four, but induced three double plays to avoid harm. The Senators scored their only run in the sixth when Binghamton committed three errors, all on ground balls. Adrian Rosario struck out four over two shutout innings to earn his second B-Mets save.

STARTING PITCHING MATCHUP: RHP Gonzalez Germen (1-4, 5.00) makes his sixth appearance for the B-Mets and his fifth start. The righty has lost three straight games, suffering the loss in his previous start against the Akron Aeros on June 1. He struck out nine, but allowed six runs (four earned) on four hits over five innings of work. Adam Abraham tagged the righty for a three-run homer in Binghamton's 10-2 loss. Germen was promoted from St. Lucie (High-A) on May 4 to fill-in when Zack Wheeler went on the disabled list. Germen went 3-0 with a 3.04 ERA in five games (four starts) in the Florida State League before his promotion. He was signed as a non-drafted free agent out of La Romana, Dominican Republic in October 2007.

RHP Adam Miller (0-0, 2.66) makes his fifth start with the Thunder and first against the B-Mets. Signed my the New York Yankees as a minor league free agent this past offseason, Miller began the season late in April as a reliever with the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees (AAA). Miller went 0-1 with a 4.50 ERA over five games in long relief for the Yankees before getting moved to Trenton the middle of May. He allowed three runs (one earned) on eight hits over 6.2 innings in a no-decision in his last start against the New Hampshire Fisher Cats on June 3. Originally selected by the Cleveland Indians as the 31st overall pick in the 2003 draft, Miller spent seven years in the Indians' system. The right missed the entire 2009 and 2010 seasons because of surgeries on his middle finger on his throwing hand.

START WEAK, END STRONG: Binghamton's series against the Harrisburg Senators continued a pair of trends. They lost the series opener and have now gone 5-13 in the first games of a series. The B-Mets took last night's series finale and have compiled a 12-6 in the final games of a series. The B-Mets have lost seven consecutive series openers.

WHEELER ROLLING: Zack Wheeler earned his sixth-straight win last night against the Senators. The righty lowered his ERA to 1.66, the second-lowest in the Eastern League.

MARTE MASHING: Jefry Marte comes off a series against the Harrisburg Senators in which he went 4-for-12 at the plate and racked up six RBI. All his hits went for extra-bases.

CLIMBING THE LEADER BOARD: B-Mets outfielder Matt den Dekker went 8-for-13 against the Senators and raised his batting average to a season-high .321. His average is the fourth-best in the Eastern League. He leads the league in runs scored (42) and total bases (122) and shares the lead in hits (72).

AGAINST THE THUNDER: The B-Mets took two of three games from the Trenton Thunder at NYSEG Stadium in May. Binghamton went 4-6 against the Thunder at Waterfront Park last season. The B-Mets only visit the Thunder once this season. The three games in New Jersey are the fewest the B-Mets have ever played against the Thunder. The B-Mets have not had a winning record against the Thunder at Waterfront Park in one season since they went 6-4 here in 2001.
