The Greeneville Flyboys beat the Kingsport Axmen by a final score of 5-3 on Saturday night. All six meetings between Kingsport and Greeneville have been decided by three runs or fewer.

After three scoreless innings to begin the game, Kingsport scored in the top of the fourth on a Henry Hunter RBI walk. The Flyboys (18-21) scored two in the bottom half of the fourth to take the lead and they would never surrender it.

The Flyboys scored three more runs in the bottom of the fifth, extending their lead to four.

Kingsport (25-12) cut the lead in half in the top of the eighth, making it a 5-3 game. Sam Petersen doubled home Jake Perry and Henry Hunter singled home Petersen.

Four Axmen batters recorded multi-hit games, including a three-hit game from Ian Riley. Riley is now on a 27-game on-base streak.

The Axmen, down 5-3, had the bases loaded with two outs in the top of the ninth, but Payton Allen flew out to right field to end the game.

For the first time this season, Kingsport has lost three consecutive games. Kingsport looks to avoid the three-game sweep in a seven-inning Sunday night game in Tusculum.
