
Aviators Tie Mustangs To Pick Up Another Hard Earned Point On The Road

Edmonton, June 25, 2004 â The Edmonton Aviators Men (0-5-4) played their tenth game of the season tonight against the Calgary Mustangs (2-2-7). The game, held at McMahon Stadium, ended in a 1-1 draw.
Nikola Vignjevic scored just four minutes into the game to give Edmonton a 1-0 lead. The Aviators continued to dominate the first half. The Mustangs responded with a goal in the 78th minute as Jamie Auvigne put the ball past Aviators goalkeeper Jose Luis Campi on a penalty kick. The late goal by the Mustangs put the game into overtime which ended in a 1-1 draw.
Tonight's game was the second of four meetings between Edmonton and Calgary. The first game also ended in a 1-1 draw in Calgary on May 28th.
The Edmonton Aviators Men have now played 6 away games and 4 home games so far this season. On the road, the team has 0 wins, 3 ties, and 3 losses. At home the team has 0 wins, 2 ties, and 2 losses.
Tonight's game was the first televised Aviators game and is the only Aviators game scheduled to be televised on Fox Sports World this season.
The Aviators next home game will be a doubleheader on Monday, June 28th at Commonwealth Stadium. The Aviators Women will play the Mile High Mustangs (Denver) at 6:00 pm followed by the Aviators Men, once again, taking on the Calgary Mustangs at 8:30 pm.
