Tony Rizzotti (4-0) combined with two relievers to shutout the Schaumburg Boomers in Game Two of a Frontier League doubleheader to help the Rockford Aviators (22-10) gain a split with the Schaumburg Boomers in a 2-0 win Sunday at Aviators Stadium in Loves Park, IL.
Dusty Robinson and Conor Szczerba drove in runs for the Aviators in the nightcap as Colby Holmes and Michael Schaub helped close it out from the mound, with Schaub posting his 11th save with a perfect seventh inning, Edwin Carl (0-3) was the tough luck loser for the Boomers (15-18) as he went the distance (six innings) with just one walk and 11 strikeouts.
