Aviators open series with home loss
ROBSTOWN, Texas -The Aviators continue to slide out of the playoff picture. The loss against the Fort Worth Cats tonight pushes the Coastal Bend further out of the chase.
Elliott Shaw picked up the loss for the Aviators falling to 3-9 on the season. Shaw was only able to last 1.1 innings giving up five hits, nine runs, of which eight were earned. On the bright side Jorge Huerta came in relief pitching 6.2 innings surrendering only three hits and one run.
Edwin Maldonado went two for four at the plate. No one else in the line-up had more than one hit. The Aviators made a valiant effort in trying to make the comeback, but after trailing 9-0 after just an inning and a half, the hill was just to high to climb.
