Time: 2:40 ATT: 286 W: Jed Jensen (3-4) L: Rusty Camp (6-11) S: BJ Litchfield (3) HR: None DH Jorge Alvarez was 3-for-5 with a pair of RBIs and a stolen base as San Angelo roughed up Jackson 7-3. 3B J.P Schmidt had a pair of hits and two RBIs for the Colts, who improve to 17-20. Jed Jensen got the win, allowing just a run on three hits over six innings, striking out five. BJ Litchfield yielded a run on one hit over an inning and two-thirds to get the save, his third. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- COASTAL BEND 8, FORT WORTH 7 (10) @ Robstown, Texas. Time: 2:54 ATT: 1,067 W: James Lira (4-1) L: Logan Stout (3-5) S: None HR: CB - Rich Gomez (6), Ben Tinius (4) A bases-loaded RBI single by LF Rich Gomez in the bottom of the tenth gave Coastal Bend the 8-7 win over Fort Worth. Gomez, who'd homered earlier in the game, finished 2-for-5 with a pair of RBIs and a stolen base from the leadoff spot. 3B Ben Tinius also homered for the Aviators, finishing with three hits. James Lira got the win in relief, surrendering just a pair of hits in three innings of work, striking out three. The Cats scored five runs in the fourth inning of the see-saw contest, all of which were unearned but nevertheless chased starter Marc Acierno from the hill. Coastal Bend's bullpen combined for six and a third innings of two-run ball. DH John Allen led Fort Worth with three hits. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- PENSACOLA 9, EL PASO 2 @ El Paso, Texas. Time: 2:37 ATT: 1,570 W: Nick Singleton L: Jose Garcia (0-1) S: None HR: PEN - Larry Bethea (18), Palmer Karr (2) DH Larry Bethea and RF Palmer Karr each homered for Pensacola, which scored six runs in the ninth inning, in the Pelicans' 9-2 win over El Paso. Bethea, who is in a tie with several players for second in the league's home run race (Chad Gambill - 21), finished 2-for-5 with a pair of runs driven in. 2B Carlos Mendoza drove in a three for the Pelicans. Nick Singleton got the win, allowing just two runs on four hits over seven innings. Jose Garcia pitched well for the Diablos, allowing just two earned runs over seven innings, fanning seven, but was saddled with his first loss.
