San Angelo Colts News Release
San Angelo, TX--Mike Smith made his 1st appearance at Foster Field in 2004 a memorable one as he carried a no-hitter into the 6th inning, before giving up a single to Bert Aguliar. Smith would have more than enough to hand San Angelo their 2nd loss of the series as he threw 8 innings allowing just 2 runs. The Aviators bats pounded out 8 runs on 10 hits to beat the Colts 8-2. San Angelo trailed the entire game, however they were down only 1 run in the 7th, after Sean Bischofberger's 4th homerun of the season. The Aviators however kicked the life out of the Colts with a 5 run 8th inning highlighted by a Mike Guerrero 2 run single. An error in the inning allowed unearned runs to score, and the Aviators were set with a lead they would not relinquish. Chad Johnson took the loss for the Colts to fall to 1-4 while Mike Smith was his same old dominant self, striking out 7 in 8 innings of work on his way to his 3rd win of the year. Guerrerro lead the Aviators with a 3-3 night while not a single Colt had a multi-hit evening.
