Sports warm up at Jackson

May 29, 2004 - Central Baseball League (Central League)
Jackson Senators News Release

Jackson, MS; May, 28 2004 – Shreveport brought very cold bats into Jackson for a three game series but they quickly heated up as the Sports scored 2 runs in each of the first three innings. Shreveport slammed 18 hits in total with 13 of them being singles. Jackson tried to muster up a come back as they scored 2 in the 4th inning, and one in the 5th on a Josh Tranum solo homerun. The Senators left the bases loaded in the 4th and left 2 on the 5th. Shreveport's Trey Poland was fantastic in relief of Thad Markray who was very good in 6 innings. Majowski wound up with his 2nd save of the season pitching the 8th and 9th innings. Jackson will throw Ryan Creek against Shreveport's Keith Black in game 2 of the series. Shreveport is just a ½ game behind Jackson in the East Division.

Next home game: Friday, May 29th vs. Shreveport. Fireworks/Autism Awareness Night
