Los Angeles Avengers News Release

LOS ANGELES - Even though it is the off-season, Avenger players, coaches and "A-Team" dancers regularly visit schools, hospitals and community events.

This week, head coach Ed Hodgkiss, assistant head coach Brent Winter and "A-Team" dancers Alison and Jessica spent Sunday, November 19 at the PADRES Contra El Cáncer Annual "Harvest For HOPE" Thanksgiving Basket Distribution at STAPLES Center in Los Angeles. Three hundred children with cancer and their families kicked off the holiday season with PADRES Contra El Cáncer, Ralphs/Food 4 Less, Azteca America and the Avengers.

"The holidays are a very special time of year for our families, but unfortunately, many are unable to provide a real Thanksgiving meal for their children," said Elvia Barboa, CEO of PADRES. "This year, through a generous donation from Ralphs/Food 4 Less and support from Azteca America and the Los Angeles Avengers, our families will have everything they need to create an unforgettable holiday feast."

Hodgkiss and Winter helped distribute food to the families while the "A-Team" dancers signed autographs and posed for pictures.

Special guests included City Council member Bernard Parks, actors Adrian Bellani, Matt Cedeño, Cristián de la Fuente, Angelica Castro and Azteca America personalities. Staff members from PADRES, Ralphs/Food 4 Less and Avengers were on hand to interact with the families and distribute holiday food baskets.
