Austin Wranglers News Release
AUSTIN, TX - When the Austin Wranglers play the first game of the Arena Football League's 20th season, fans will enjoy a fun-filled night of football, music and entertainment.
The Austin Wranglers kick off their third season on Friday, January 27 at 7:30 p.m. at the Frank Erwin Center when they face the Las Vegas Gladiators.
Wranglers fans can expect hard-hitting, helmet-popping, in-your-face football when the Wranglers players take the field at Ambush Arena, the new name of the arena during Wranglers games. Fans can count on some fancy footwork and flips during the touchdown celebrations.
Pre-game festivities include an exhilarating indoor fireworks display, player introductions and Color Guard by the U.S. Marine Corps.
Performing the National Anthem will be Allie Danielle, one of country music's hottest new female entertainers in Texas. Her first three singles made the Top 10 on the Texas Music Chart.
Fans young and old will "ooh and aah" when they watch Nick Evans, a World Champion Frisbee® Dog, perform during halftime. This "high energy" Australian Shepherd will jump to new heights and do backflips to catch a Frisbee.
During halftime, the Wranglers will also recognize Samantha Lopez, the recipient of the Austin Habitat for Humanity home that the Wranglers recently built with KVUE-Television.
The first 10,000 fans that enter the arena will receive a 2006 Austin Wranglers Schedule Poster, presented by the new AT&T. Fans will also receive a complimentary game program upon entering the arena.
Following every home game, all Wranglers players, coaches and Lady Wranglers will remain on the field to sign autographs for fans. Fans are encouraged to come onto the field after the game to meet and get photos with the members of the Austin Wranglers.
Tickets starting at $7.50 are available for Friday's game. Student, military and group discounts are also available. For tickets, call 339-3939 or go to Texas Box Office at the Frank Erwin Center (477-6060) or H-E-B ticket outlets.
