AFL enhances fantasy football selections

January 26, 2006 - Arena Football League (1987-2008) (AFL I) News Release

NEW YORK - The Arena Football League announced several enhancements to its fantasy football games today and added two more free games for AFL fans to play. This year the AFL is offering three free games and one pay-to-play. The AFL kicks off its 20th Season tomorrow, when the Las Vegas Gladiators travel to Austin to play the Wranglers.

The following games are available to play at www.arenafootball.com. AFL fans are encouraged to visit the Web site to sign-up to participate.

* AFL Full Contact - Play traditional fantasy football by drafting a team of players either with our high-tech Shockwave Live Draft system or by creating ordered lists for our automated draft system to assign players to your team. Play a head-to-head regular-season schedule and playoff schedule just like the pros. So real, we don't call it fantasy. AFL Full Contact can be played at a minimal charge.

* AFL Salary Cap - Create YOUR AFL Dream Team. Using a salary cap, select players each week to score points based on their on-field performance. Score the most points and win cash prizes.

* AFL Pick ‘Em - Select the winners each week by weighting your selections to prove that your AFL knowledge is superior. Get bonuses for TV games, making it even more fun to watch the AFL on NBC and FSN.

* AFL Superstar - Make your Dream Team without calculating salaries. Select one player in each group to root for and score points based on their on-field performances. Score the most points and win cash prizes.

AFL fans can access the Fantasy Draft Guide on arenafootball.com, a complete analysis of this year including 2006 projections, outlooks and more statistics and features than anywhere. It also breaks down every team with a 2006 outlook and all the latest player news.

"With its constant action and quick scoring, Arena Football generates enormous statistical output making it an ideal for fantasy football," said John Sikorjak, Director of AFL for Sandbox.com.
