
Austin, Odenwaelder leads Titans to victory

The Torrington Titans won their third game of the season on Thursday, when they defeated the Nashua Silver Knights, 4-2.
Torrington native, Pat Austin got the start and the win for the Titans, going five innings, allowing only two hits, striking out two batters as well. The offense was able to muster up five hits against the Silver Knights, knocking out their starting pitcher, Tim Cashman, after only three innings.
The Titans got on the board early, scoring three of their four runs in the first three innings.
Michael Odenwaelder, who went 2-for-4, knocked in Casey Jones in the first on a base hit. Jake McGuiggan scored in the second on a drop third strike, allowing Kelly Starnes to reach first. Then in third, Odenwaelder hit a solo homerun to extend the Titans lead to 3-0. Brian Fay tacked on an RBI sacrifice fly in the bottom of the eighth.
The Titans are now 3-5 and the Silver Knights are 4-2.
