Austin Aztex, Shiner Team up to Host Beer Garden at Aztex Games

AUSTIN, Texas (Thursday, March 19, 2015) - The Austin Aztex are proud to announce that the new and improved beer garden has returned for the 2015 season, with Shiner Beer on board as the Official Beer Sponsor and official sponsor of the Austin Aztex Pub Partners Program.
"We are excited to begin this relationship with one of the most popular craft brewers in the country," Aztex CEO Rene van de Zande said. "Providing the beer garden is a great opportunity to enhance the game day experience for our fans and to bring in a beer partner that resonates well with Texans."
The beer garden is one of the Aztex newest amenities for home games at House Park. Located adjacent to the park, it allows fans the opportunity to catch the action while enjoying ice-cold Shiner Beer. When the beer garden debuted at the 2014 playoffs, the Aztex drew a record crowd of 4,754 fans to House Park.
106 years ago, German and Czech immigrants in the small town of Shiner, Texas founded the Spoetzl Brewery. Drawing on their Old World heritage, they began handcrafting beers which they named for their new hometown. Since then, Shiner Beer has grown to be the country's fourth largest craft beer brand, available in 49 states. But every drop of their award-winning beer is still brewed and bottled right at the spot where it all started in 1909.
"Shiner has grown from humble beginnings into a national brand," said Charlie Paulette, Shiner's head of marketing. "The Aztex are on a similar trajectory, and we're thrilled to be part of it."
The Austin Aztex kick off their inaugural 2015 season in USL with a home match versus the Colorado Springs Switchbacks on March 28 at House Park. Aztex fans can join the Aztex Originals club with the purchase of a season ticket by April 17, 2015. The Aztex Originals club will reward Aztex fans that are with the club from the beginning of its first professional season and can be joined by simply purchasing season tickets for as little as $99 for youth, students, and military and $175 for adults.
