Audition Date Set For Sun Munchkin Dancers

UNCASVILLE, Conn. (March 10, 2009) - The Connecticut Sun will hold open tryouts for the Munchkin Dance Team presented by Dunkin' Donuts on Saturday, March 28th at Mohegan Sun.

The Sun Munchkin Dancers will perform at eight home games during the 2009 season, which runs from June through September. Auditions are open to boys and girls, ages 7-15, and will be held in the Oneida Ballroom at the Mohegan Sun Convention Center. Registration begins at 10:30 a.m. and auditions start at 11:15 a.m. following a short information session. Auditions will be closed to the public until 1:30 p.m.

"We are very pleased to be able to continue our partnership with Dunkin' Donuts for the Munchkin Dance Team again in 2009," Sun Director of Marketing Gwendolyn Pointer said. "The Munchkin Dancers are an important part of the Connecticut Sun performance family and we are looking forward to putting together another excellent team during the auditions later this month."

The complete list of all dancers chosen for the 2009 squad will be posted on www.connecticutsun.com on Monday, March 30th.

Candidates must commit to all mandated rehearsals and games. For the auditions, candidates must provide a 5x7 headshot, which won't be returned, and a non-refundable $20 registration fee. Participants must wear dance sneakers or tennis shoes with non-marking soles, and have performance-ready hair and makeup.
